Module 5
At the end ( after finishing this module) In this Module Students will learn how to -
  • Identify the structure of external data with different file types, for example: .csv, .txt, .rtf
  • Locate, open and import data from an existing file
  • Enter data with 100% accuracy
  • Create a calculated field, perform calculations at run time using formulae and functions, for example: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, sum, average, maximum, minimum, count
  • Sort data using one criterion into ascending or descending order, using different field types, for example: alphanumeric, numeric, date
  • Perform searches using a single criterion and using multiple criteria, with different field types like alphanumeric, numeric, Boolean etc. and a variety of operators like: AND, OR, NOT, LIKE, >, <, =, >=, <=
  • Perform searches using wildcards
  • Produce reports to display all required data and labels in full
  • Set report titles,use headers and footers, align data and labels appropriately, produce different layouts, for example: labels
  • Format numeric data, for example: to display the number of decimal places, a variety of currencies, percentages
  • Show and hide data and labels within a report, show hidden fields, display calculations/formulae
  • Export data in common text formats, for example:.csv,.txt,.rtf
  • Export data into a graph/charting package

Download Required Files.

Create A Folder on Your Desktop name it as Module 11 Your Name.
Download supporting files and instructions file from the following link, save these files in the folder you created.

Learning Tasks.
Phase 1 Importing External Data in to Database for manipulation.
Using Microsoft Assess , Create a database file in your folder.
Import the CSV file in to database for manipulation in to the database file as table.
Make sure the data types are exactly as per the requirements.

Create a document to place the screenshot on to evidence document.
Make sure to place your name , number , class name as header for this document.
And in the footer File name with path, Page Number , Date & Time appear clearly.


Phase 2 Entering new data ( Adding New Records )
Add the three new records given in the instructions.

Phase 3 Making Query with criteria and adding new field.
Create Query with criteria ( Conditions ) , Adding New fields with Calculations.

Phase 4 Making Reports.
Create Report By Wizard basing on Query, Calculations at the bottom of the report.
Report header and footer need to be specially designed.
In reports page headers and page footers need to be designed.
Report by Grouping and Group totals. Setting up Sort orders.

Phase 5 Making Labels.

Submission of Work.
Create A Folder called Module 11 in Your SkyDrive now (OneDrive) or DropBox.
